Read these instructions fully before attempting to upgrade an Easysoft license. Make sure you send us the details we require in the format we require, otherwise we won't be able to process your request.
If you need to use the new version of your Easysoft software before we can process your request, obtain a trial license. Trial licenses last for 14 days and can be obtained at any time on the Easysoft web site.
To upgrade to a new version of an Easysoft product, you need a new license. To generate a new Easysoft license for you, we need a copy of the old license key and the machine number generated after installing the new product version.
Your old license key is located in the file licenses
. By default, licenses
is located in /usr/local/easysoft/license
. If your Easysoft software was installed in a non-default location, licenses
is located in $EASYSOFT_ROOT/license
.
Once you have installed the new version of your Easysoft product:
cd /usr/local/easysoft/license
Or, if your Easysoft software is not installed under the default location (/usr/local
):
cd $EASYSOFT_ROOT/license
./licshell
Choose the product you want to license from the list. The machine number is displayed. For example:
Retrieved site information number is xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
Your site information number is your machine number. We only require the machine number, and so you can exit the licshell
program at this point by typing CTRL-C.
When emailing your request to , specify "License Upgrade" in the subject line.
If you only have one Easysoft product to upgrade, in the email body, send your details in the following format:
New Machine Name: (This is for your reference only.) Easysoft Product: New Machine Number: Old License(s):
If you're upgrading more than one Easysoft product, include the name and target machine number for each product. For example:
New Machine Name: (This is for your reference only.) Easysoft Product: New Machine Number: Easysoft Product: New Machine Number: Old License(s):
If you're upgrading Easysoft software on multiple machines, send multiple requests to ; one email for each machine. Ensure that each email specifies the correct machine in the New Machine Name
field, so you can identify which machine the licenses we send back are for.
